About Scription
Scription is working with iconic industry brands such as McDonald's, Burger King, and Casey's to change the way maintenance and repair is performed on commercial equipment through a subscription maintenance model. We are currently developing data-driven systems which include data collection applications, machine learning, and user-facing applications.
We believe in the value of high-quality software and craftmanship. As such, we strive to offer exceptional and flexible working conditions with most teams requiring only 2 days a week in the office. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover patterns and insights that drive business decisions.
- Develop and implement predictive models using machine learning algorithms.
- Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate findings.
- Clean, prepare and warehouse data for further analysis.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, business analysts and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuously monitor and refine models and algorithms based on new data and feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (graduate level preferred).
- Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data science solutions.
- Proficiency in database modeling, SQL, and data warehousing principles
- Proficiency in developing analysis in Python and experience with relevant ML libraries and frameworks
- Proficiency with building ML/AI pipelines and relevant tools
- Strong team player mindset, while able to work under your own initiative and prioritize time and tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with field service concepts
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Published research in predictive maintenance
Compensation
- Based on experience, skills, and credentials, you can expect a salary ranging between $120,000 - $160,000 CAD

Location
Scription follows a flexible hybrid work philosophy. You are expected to reside in the Calgary area and should be prepared to come to the office several times a week.

- A CV screen during which we will evaluate your credentials and experience to make sure you meet the minimum requirements
- A virtual teams or phone conversation to discuss your credentials and experience, and to give you an opportunity to ask questions about the role and the company
- A 1-to-2-hour in-person technical interview
- An audition-style interview with the team for which you will be asked to prepare a 10-to-15-minute discussion on a relevant technical topic of your choosing to both technical and non-technical members
