Data Engineers at NCX are responsible for developing a distinct profile of every acre of land across millions of properties in the contiguous United States. We achieve this with a variety of remote satellite imagery and open-source tools and data to come up with the key characteristics of any given parcel of land. With this knowledge, we can identify the most appropriate programs in the NCX catalog for every landowner to find new revenue streams for their land while taking nature-positive action like tree planting or harvest deferral.

On our team you'll use Python (FastAPI, Celery), Postgres (PostGIS), eoAPI, AWS (including CDK, Lambda, Batch, Elasticache), GDAL, and more. And you'll apply your expertise to help every other team at NCX, from Marketing and Product to Business Development and Platform Engineering.

Candidates who will succeed in this role:

• are proficient in Python
• have advanced knowledge of geospatial concepts, terms, libraries, and techniques (PostGIS, GDAL, and shapely should already be well-loved friends)
• have 2+ years of experience working on geospatial problems
• are self-directed and have a track record of working through challenges to reach success

Exemplary candidates will have:

• Experience in forestry, ecology, or other earth sciences
• Experience building and maintaining large data pipelines
• 5+ years of experience working on geospatial problems

Compensation subject to experience.
